The BBC has started streaming its 24-hour news channel live on YouTube for viewers in the United Kingdom and the United States. The service began on 15 October and is being run as a trial. In other words, the BBC is testing how well it works before making any long-term decision.

The channel covers world and national news, politics, business, technology, culture and breaking stories. It was already available on YouTube in a few other countries, including Australia, Kenya, Nigeria and Poland. In the UK, people can also watch it on BBC iPlayer and the BBC News app, while viewers in the US can find it on cable TV and some streaming services.

The move is part of a wider plan to reach new and younger audiences on the platforms they already use every day. A BBC News executive said audiences now expect news to be available "wherever they are." A YouTube manager in the UK also described the launch as a major milestone.

For the BBC, the challenge will be to keep its reputation for impartial reporting while competing for attention with millions of other videos. For English learners, it is another reminder that real news in English is getting easier to reach, often just one tap away on your phone.

The judge must remain impartial. |
A mediator should remain neutral during a dispute. |

### 1. S + is being + p.p.

- Pruébalo: This English training is part of a wider plan to help our team work with overseas clients.

### 3. A, while B (A es una cosa, mientras que B es otra)

- Original: In the UK, people can also watch it on BBC iPlayer, **while** viewers in the US can find it on cable TV.
- Pruébalo: In Cebu, students enjoy the beach, while in Baguio they enjoy the cool weather.
